Electric gates are mechanical barriers that can open and close automatically, typically controlled by a remote or keypad access system. When installed on large gates it is great for providing enhanced security for properties, as they can prevent unauthorised access and keep intruders at bay.
The other benefit is that automated gates offer convenience for property owners, as you can easily enter and exit your premises without having to manually open and close a gate - especially handy with our British weather, imagine not having to get out of your car in the rain to open your gates, drive through, stop, and then get out again to close them
Electric gates also add a touch of sophistication and modernity to a property, increasing its overall aesthetic appeal. With various automation options available, electric gates can be tailored to suit your specific needs and preferences.
Electric sliding gates are becoming an increasingly popular choice for homeowners and businesses looking to enhance their security and convenience. These gates provide a stylish and modern way to control access to your property while also adding value and curb appeal.
As with any automated gate one of the main benefits of electric sliding gates is the convenience they offer. With just the touch of a button, you can open and close your gate without having to manually operate it. This is especially handy for busy homeowners or businesses with high traffic flow.
Our electric sliding gates come in a variety of styles and materials to suit your specific needs and preferences. Composite automated gates are becoming the most popular whilst historically metal gates took the bulk of automation. Metal framed wooden gates also now a popular option for a sliding operation too. All of our sliding gates are durable and fitted onto a track for safety and stability.
As well as electric sliding gates we can also automate more traditional hinged swing gates too - both new and retrofit. This will generally be a slightly cheaper option than a sliding gate as a ground rail is not required. Typically a motorised arm will operate each gate. All gates are fitted with safety stops to ensure that there is no risk of injury by the gates if they are opened, or closed, without spotting that someone may be in the swing radius of the gate.
Most motorised arms will be fitted at the middle of each gate but these can also be mounted lower down on the gates to provide more discreet visibility of the arms. This may depend on the size and type of your gates but we will happily discuss all options with you as part of our survey.
Sometimes the additional costs of automating a gate may stretch the budget too far. However, if you know you want automation in the future then simply let us know at the point of specifying your gates. Whilst the bulk of a set of driveways gates will be the same whether automated or not, there will be a few subtle aspects that can be incorporated at the time of gate fabrication to make adding automation at a future date much easier and cheaper.
Simply get in touch with us when you are ready to add automation in the future.
You may also want to decide on how you may want to control access through your gates at that time too. This may only be more of a consideration if you want keypad, swipe, auto vehicle detection or an intercom system of control. Generally for the domestic automation installations the preferred control device will be a remote control or smartphone app.

Probably a more appropriate phrase would be 'recommended' rather than required. As with any elctricatal/mechanical components, especially those located outdoors arranging a regular service is a much more sensible approach than arranging a repair if something goes wrong. Most motorised gate mechanism manufacturers provide a warranty on the provision that it is regularly serviced, most on an annual basis - simimilar to what most people are used to with their boiler.
In terms of checks and maintenance you can do yourself - it is always sensible to check for any signs of wear and tear on the gate itself, as well as on the motor and other mechanical components. Lubricating moving parts, such as hinges and rollers, is also important to prevent rust and ensure smooth operation. Additionally, regularly checking and adjusting the safety features, such as the sensors and reversing mechanism, is crucial to prevent accidents. Keeping the gate clean and free of debris can also help prevent malfunctions. Overall, regular inspection and maintenance of automated gates are essential to ensure their continued safe and reliable operation.
We can but it will depend on a number of factors such as the position of the gates, the gates themselves and the type of opening mechanism you want.
The best option is to arrange a survey where we will be able to assess what can be done and then provide you with an appropriate quote.
